Great opportunity for those who have money.....

XENA: LUCY LAWLESS LONDON CONCERT BACKSTAGE VIP TICKETS
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330232454275&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:US:1123

Basically this is about hanging casually backstage one hour with Lucy saturday before her concert with nineteen other fans. And nope, you can't take photos or ask autographs (every winner will get item hand-signed by both Lucy Lawless and Renee O'Connor). Min bid is $500.

I did a little math. 60 minutes shared with 20 fans is basically 3 minutes/fan (personal talking time with lucy). $500 divided with 3 minutes is $166,67/minute/fan. And that is if there is no delays and everybody gets to talk some. If you don't want to talk with Lucy, only listen it's $8,33/minute. It would have been really nice way for Creation Entertainment to collect some money for some charity this way but who am I to criticize. Good luck Lucy, Creation Entertainment and every bidder. I think you will have the greatest time but maybe it is still a good thing I do not have that kind of money. I would probably be way too quiet.... :)

Man, I just looked at the price and thought it was bad but reading this, the math and that you CAN'T take pictures (Autos I can understand a s you get a free one) IT'S A BLOODY RIP OFF!

Though have to admit I was pretty close to bidding till I spoke to a non fan who brought me back into the real world.

Your right it would be a good thing if the money was going to some form of charity but I have to say it perhaps shows again the true colours of Creation Entertainment. I apreciate they do a lot for us but still sometimes they get a little pre occupied with the $$.

Still great idea and man everyones gonna have a blast with Lucy. Good luck to her and the bidders, i'm just a *little* green with envy lol.

I agree. Seems like just plain greed to me. They could have even done it as a competition, for free - bah. I know they are a company, but usually they still have limits. I guess they wouldn't do it if they didn't think people would bid!

I'm sure they will have a great time, but still. :/

Creation doesn't have limits

Creation is a business. With that being said, they don't have any limits.

I've been a Xena fan since day 1 and attended many a Creation convention. I've personally witnessed how far Creation will go to make a buck.

It all came to a head for me at the 2000 Pasadena convention. in an attempt to cash in on the large amounts of money that were being bid on props during charity auctions, Creation opted to not hold a charity auction that year. Gary Berman had the audacity to complain - on stage - when the dollar amount bid for a Gabwhacker was far below what he expected. That killed the conventions for me.

I am a bit amazed that LL and ROC are still diong business with them.

Who is Gary Berman?

I do agree with you, though; there should be limits to any business. I bet Creation are loving that Xena fans are still willing to pay large amounts of cash for anything and everything Xena-related. I was staggered to see that tickets for Lucy's concert were selling for either £42 or nearly £100 - a ridiculous amount! I don't even think that the real 'big' stars charge £100 for a ticket. Even Spice Girls tickets were only £70..!

Unfortunately, while people will still pay it, they will still charge it :(

I can't afford to go to this concert, but I'm happy that they're doing it, because I hope that like Lucy's other concerts, Creatioin will put it onto DVD. I'm listening to the Chicago concert on my iPod right now. :D

All I've ever heard about Creation is that they are very cery expesnsive and are essentially trying to get as much money from fan as possible.

The only con I've ever gone to was arragned by Starfury in the UK, and it was brilliant. A guy called Sean Harry effectively is in charge of all the Starfury cons, and the Xena one I went to was great value. They really seem to care about the fans.

The headliner was Hudson and she made sure to spend a long time with fans. There was a HUGE queue to get photos taken with her, and it was taking ages. Hudson was told that the organisers could hurry along the queue. Hudson said no. She said she'd rather spend the time with the fans.

She spent ages doing the photos and they eventually scheduled for her to finish off the next day because it was taking so long.

As far as I've ever heard Creatio micro-manage and rush the fans through ... so sad.

(Having said that if I was a millionaire I would go to see Lucy.)

The first convention I went to was the Starfury Chariots of War 4. I paid £25 for the day and got free autographs and the photo op I think was about £10. Man that was a blast!

Lol I can remeber the photo Op with hudson. She was soo sweet. She asked me how i was but 'i was soo start struck my Mum had to speak for me and told her that I was really nervous. Never forget her saying 'Don't be nervous, this is fun!' and the massive hug I got for her. I got to stand with her for a while as the guy had to change the camera film. Still have to pinch myself lol.

Such a great day,

Have to agree, if I win the lottery man....

OMG yeah, the helping staff were great and enjoying themselves, Hudson and the other guest stars were enjoying themselvesthe fans were enjoying themselves, the only person who wasn't was the photographer, because he was working very hard. I always thought that would be a cool job until I saw the presure he was under. He had to take all these photos very quickly, and had to get them all developed quickly. I was thinking, what if the camera jammed, or worse still, what if a batch of film went off and didn't turn out at all ... you coudln't just ask everyone back to do it again.

But yeah, every now and then he'd have to change the roll of film. The the fans who happened to be up with Hudson, or with the guest stars (Hudson had her own photo session as she was so popular, and all the other stars combined to have a different one) were very lucky, as they got to wait around a few minutes.

(OMG the poor photographer the next day. He got all his photos back, and he had to sort them all and hand them out to the fans. They were doing this while the fans were in the autograph queue.

He had no table.

So he was laying them out on the floor. All these helpers were rushing forward and asking if he needed help, and obviously it would just get in a mess with lots of hands sorting the photos,so he kept saying, "NO I DON'T NEED HELP I CAN SORT IT MYSELF BUT I JUST NEED A TABLE GET ME A TABLE."

hahahaha. If you win one, you still have to buy a concert ticket! Thats kinda hillarious.

I guess if you have the money, good for you...but the price makes the whole thing sound kinda ridiculous to me.

And how weird would that be for Lucy? To be in a room w/ 20 people knowing they all paid 500+ to be there w/ you. Awkward I would think.

Thanks for asking. Sorry this answer took awhile but I went to London and it has been quite hectic.

"a soot sprite". Very good but no it is not. My icon is just something I like to draw sometimes (among other things) when I'm in the mood. If I were a distant relative of The Addams Family I would probably look just like that.... ;)

Wow! I spent $300.00 to meet Reba McEntire. The price included a second row ticket to her concert and the seats were on the stage. Afterward we all lined up, met with Reba for a couple of minutes and posed for photos with Reba, all included in the price. She posed with me, then my friend and posed with both me and my friend so we actually got an extra photo and she autographed two 8x12's photos I had taken of her. One was personalized so I could give it to my sister as a Christmas present and the extra money for the meet and greet was given to her favorite charity, Habitat For Humanity so it was money well spent. I love Lucy but I can not see givng that much money and not having a photo taken with Lucy and knowing that the money is going to a corporation and not a good cause. I'd sure like to think there was a better reason than the greed of Creation like Lucy raising money to fund Renee's next picture or something. Otherwise I have mixed emotions about it. As for Lucy and Renee' still in business for Creation I can understand it. Creation holds the rights to the conventions and as long as they are making money they are not going to give that up. No Creation, no conventions. Legally Lucy and Renee' cannot keep in contact with their fans without them.

Only 15 people actually won in the end. I bet they were disappointed that not as many people bid as they were hoping.
